FROM THE PRESIDENT

My wife Kristy and I moved back to Washington when I retired in 2017. We had lived in Woodinville, WA with our four children for enough years to get them all through high school. But when I ended up moving back to Bethlehem, PA for my work, we left three of our then college-age children behind. We vacationed with them over the years in the northwest, the best one being a Christmas with all 19 of us in a big house on the Hood Canal.

When we finally moved back, we knew we did not want to contend with the traffic on the Seattle side, so we searched both sides of the Hood Canal, eventually finding the perfect spot right here in this one-of-a-kind community with all of the best things the northwest has to offer, while still being close enough to easily visit the Seattle side and have easy access by ferry to all the amazing things available on that side.

The community has an annual Driftwood Key Day in May when we honor our veterans and celebrate the opening day of summer boating season although many members boat year-round. There are various other community events throughout the year, and you are very close to great crabbing and fishing

We have a nine-member, elected Board of Trustees and multiple committees to assist in the overall operation of our community. Because of the number of outstanding volunteers throughout our community, our annual fees are lower than most other planned communities, and we have many great amenities.

Thank you for your interest in Driftwood Key. It is a great place to live with many of the northwest’s best nearby and in sight.
